Who We Are

Craig Schweikhard – Executive Director

Craig Schweikhard is the Executive Director of SMCSIG. Craig received a Bachelor’s Degree from Cal Poly at San Luis Obispo in Political Science, and a Masters in Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Craig also holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM-P) and has 30 years’ experience working in public entity claims and risk management working with third party claims administrators and public entity pools throughout the state. 

Robin Fawkes – Director of Risk Management

Robin has over 31 years experience as a claims and risk management professional. She joined San Mateo County Schools Insurance Group in 1999. Prior to that, Robin was a senior claims representative for Willis Administrative Services, a TPA, where her clients were school districts and community college districts.  She also worked as a claims rep for Allstate and United Pacific/Reliance insurance companies. She holds the designations Casualty Claims Law Associate and Certified Insurance Industry Professional.She has served in leadership roles for the International Association of Insurance Professionals, and in 2011 won their national award for Insurance Professional of the Year.

Sharon Vishwa – Member Services Manager/Board Relations

Sharon has been with SMCSIG since 1996. She has 15 years of experience in assisting the Property/Liability Claims Manager in handling property and liability claims. Currently Sharon supports the Executive Director.  Sharon is responsible for managing benefit programs for members,  owner controlled construction program, conducting customer satisfaction surveys, creating and disseminating communications to members and supporting JPA board functions. Sharon serves as in-house finance manager and is responsible for human resource functions related to SMCSIG staff and maintains vendor relations.  Sharon has a Master's in Public Administration with a concentration on Public Affairs from Notre Dame de Namur University.

Lourdes Goncalves – Manager, Loss Control/Workers Compensation

ourdes is the Manager, Loss Control /Workers Compensation for SMCSIG.  She has over 12 years experience working for State Compensation Insurance Fund in audit, health and safety, and data analysis. Lourdes monitors worker’s compensation claims and works closely with Keenan regarding medical case management, modified duty, potential fraud, and working with member districts who may have questions on the direction of a workers compensation claim. She is part of wc claims reviews and is a resource for those members dealing with permanent restrictions and accommodation. Lourdes is responsible for safety trainings and loss control plans for your district and provides analysis based upon member experience modification factors.

Sherrill Ernest – Administrative Specialist

Sherrill Ernest is the Administrative Specialist for SMCSIG. Her duties consist of setting up claim files and issuing payments in the Property/Liability Claims Program, assisting the public and member districts with Certificate of Insurance request, subrogations, comprehensive and collision coverage,  handling minor vehicle accidents, conducting court searches, obtaining police reports, processing incoming and outgoing correspondence of highly confidential documents, and assisting SMCSIG staff. She also performs a variety of routine clerical work including reception duties, photocopying, filing, sorting and distribution of mail.

Tom Ledda - Senior Loss Control Analyst

Tom Ledda is the Senior Loss Control Analyst for SMCSIG. Tom’s main focus will be to partner with our member districts and the County Office of Education to conduct safety inspections of at least 50% of member owned buildings each year. Tom's duties include working with districts to hold regular safety committees, review building systems to help advise on maintenance issues that can ultimately result in property losses, and also conduct playground inspections. Tom’s initial primary focus will be to help reduce property losses from mold and water inundation. Tom spent over 30 years running his own plumbing business. He most recently was the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation at Brisbane School District. He also has served as a school board member and continues to serve as baseball coach for San Francisco City College.

Greg Marinacci- Property/Liability Claims Analyst

Greg Marinacci is the Property/Liability Claims Analyst for SMCSIG. He graduated with honors from Notre Dame de Namur University with a degree in Sociology. Before making his way over to SMCSIG, Greg served diverse homeless families within San Mateo County. Currently he reviews and handles claims for San Mateo County School Districts, analyzes incident reports, creates original content, is in charge of ordering Epi-Pens for the districts, and also provides technical support. His goal is to reduce the risk of injury on school grounds while lessening the financial burden for San Mateo County School Districts.
